In the past, live streaming has been limited to those with powerful computers and expensive equipment. Today, self-described ‘average Joe’ internet users are becoming regular streamers on sites like Twitch and YouTube with little more than a decent webcam. Although the name of these services might suggest that you need to be broadcasting something as it is happening, there are actually many ways to pre-record a video for streaming.
With Melon’s new ability to play pre-recorded videos for your live stream, it is no longer necessary to be able to broadcast in real-time. This means that streamers can now create live content as long as they have the video files they want their followers to watch on hand.
Today, we’ll show you exactly how to record content using the Melon live streaming studio and how to play them on platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook.
How to Record a Live Stream on Melon
If you don’t have a video ready to share with your viewers, you can use Melon to record your content directly on our platform. When you record, all of our standard features, tools, and functionality is available to our streamers, helping you create your regular content without changing how you work.
Step 1: Visit our website and log in to the platform.
Step 2: Click on “Record” the panel on the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Name the title of your recording and press “Start Recording.”
How to View Your Recordings in Melon
After you’ve created your recording, you can view all of your available recordings in the Recordings tab. This is where you can watch every video you recorded whenever you want to see it.
Step 1: Log in to Melon and navigate to the “Settings” section under your profile.
Step 2: Click on “Broadcasts & Recording.”
Access your previous broadcasts and download your recordings on this page. We’ll even include links to the broadcast so that you can view them on the platforms.
Please note: recordings of previous broadcasts are deleted after 15 days for Standard members and 30 days for Pro members.
Uploading a recording to the cloud takes time, which varies depending on the length of the recording. If you just finished making a recording, please wait while we upload it to the cloud.
