You have a Chromebook and you want to livestreaming. Great! Let’s do this.
First, why is streaming with Melon from a Chromebook so easy?
You won't need to download anything since the essence of Chromebook is browser experience based on Chrome, which Melon works great with. (other browsers work too but Chrome is the best option).
What are my other options to stream from a Chromebook besides Melon?
There are many browser-based livestreaming software out there but we prefer Melon. :) Try out your options by downloading apps from the Google Play Store. You can get Streamlabs for example, which has an excellent mobile experience.
There are of course native platform apps as well so you can go live from the YouTube App or the Facebook Live app. These apps work great for these specific platforms.
The benefit of using Melon to stream from a Chromebook over a native app is 3-fold:
- Ability to stream to multiple platforms so say Facebook and YouTube at the same time
- Greater ability to customize your show and make it professionally
- Ability to invite guests with ease.
Tips for streaming from a Chromebook:
- Be on stable/reliable WiFi connection
- Open Google Chrome
- Log into Melonapp.com
- Enable access to your Microphone/Camera
- Click Go Live
That’s it! Happy Streaming!
